Are you ok?

Mental health issues can affect anybody. Research from the mental health charity Mind found that around one in every four people in the UK will experience a mental health problem each year. In England, one in six people report experiencing a common mental health problem (such as anxiety and depression) in any given week, all year-round.

These statistics demonstrate the need for accessible, confidential support for people from all walks of life, including riders. If you’ve been experiencing panic attacks or feelings of dread, fear, isolation, insomnia, anxiety and spiralling thoughts, or just know that you’re not in a good place, there’s no need to suffer in silence.

We are here for you, and we are proud to be able to offer support to competing British Eventing members through our helpline in partnership with Sporting Chance.

Please call to have a chat if you are looking for some support

We are able to offer the support line thanks to our partnership with Sporting Chance. Sporting Chance is one of the world’s most innovative centres for the treatment of emotional and mental health problems among professional and former professional sportspeople.

Sporting Chance was set up in 2000 by former England football player and manager Tony Adams MBE, to address the difficulties he experienced as a player in accessing professional, confidential mental health support. Over twenty years later, the charity – which functions exclusively to support both current and retired professional sportspeople – is working with more sports than ever. Today, it helps a wide range of charities support their beneficiaries by staffing the support line during the working day with counsellors trained to specifically help sportsmen and women. Outside of those hours, the lines are staffed by trained counsellors provided by Health Assured. With its partnership with us, that support is extended to competing British Eventing members.
