About British Eventing Support Trust The BE Support Trust was founded in 2021 to help British Eventing competing members, through difficult times, whether that be recovering from an equestrian related injury or coping with mental health challenges. The Trust aims to support as many riders as possible from grassroots to the top of the sport whether they have been injured at home, out training or at a competition.
The charity offers four types of support: general well-being support, physical support, mental health support, including a 24/7 mental health helpline, and financial support. The Trust also works to promote, research, develop and implement initiatives that will maintain the safety of the sport and the welfare of the riders.
Between 2022 and 2023 the number of people the charity supported grew by 87% and in 2024 the number of people contacting the charity doubled. In just three years the charity has provided 700 rehabilitation sessions, 250 mental health counselling sessions and general advice and support to more than 200 people enabling them to return to doing what they love; being with and riding their horses.
